because they are the most photogenic family on the planet. Little H.H. is a baby model (look for him in some ads this year for those bumbo chairs (but not bumbo brand? the other ones?). Not surprising. I could have posted hundreds, but I controlled myself and stuck to a maximum of 97. Don’t worry I’m kidding. Thanks H fam for the fun afternoon and for coming all the way from San Diego and making time for me!
What??? A FLASH??!!
{my dad. what a good sport!}
This is how we all usually react at the mention of the dreaded FLASH. shudder. During “normal” shoots, I use natural light ONLY. But since I have gotten into weddings, I realize that there are some situations where it simply has to be done, like indoor evening receptions. Soooo, I caved and started flashing. In camera flash, scary. External flash, better, but unpredictable and difficult. Enter Gary Fong. I could kiss him for inventing THIS.
The fabulous lightsphere is so easy to use and the results are so much better!! Less shadows, softer, warmer, more flattering light, and backgrounds are better lit. Not to mention, never needing to BOUNCE again??! Keep it the same at all kinds of angles ( like my dad, taken from the floor, pointed up toward the ceiling), or this little foot, which belongs to Max. Genius. Both of these images are STRAIGHT out of my camera. No p.s. at all. If you use a flash ever, yet cha self one of these.
{a wee foot}
As long as I’m posting weddings…
Here are more of Amy, now that I don’t have to worry about revealing her dress too soon!
Is she beautiful or what?
same place, different day
{oh the things we do to get that perfect angle. At one point I fell all the way over in that same position at John and Emily’s wedding! I looked super cool and professional.}
Only this time I got to assist the fantastic Sheena Jibson (that’s her, up there) with a wedding she booked! It’s pretty fun being a second shooter, you just provide an alternate angle for the main shooter and shoot some of the little detail things. I had so much fun swapping services as a second shooter with Sheena, and it has been a great way to gain more experience with weddings. Thanks Sheena! I had a blast! One of these days I will have to post one that she took at Emily’s wedding! Here are a few random favorites. Maybe more to come when I really look through them all.
Love is:
squishing up your nose to the one you love
doesn’t she look GORGEOUS in this one?
It was fun going to the temple during a different time of day- we couldn’t really come over here because of the lighting for J and E’s wedding.
“pretty maids all in a row”
I really loved how the veil ones came out, so I posted thee favs. And I don’t care.
Love is: the way he LOOKS at her! Melt!
Love is: eternal
And here’s one for Cory: Look at your gorgeous wife doin’ her thing! This girl has a seriously amazing voice.
